CREATE YOUR OWN RUN COMMANDS

Make your own Run Command (program shortcut) to run a program or a document directly. No more need to navigate the location of a program or document to run it, simply click on Start button to open Run box and type the programs shortcut name to open it directly.

Follow the given steps to disable the save settings functionality for desktop:

To use this feature, you will need to be logged into your computer with administrative rights.

Click Start button and type regedit in Run option then press Enter for next.

Here locate the location to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App paths

Now right click on App Paths and select New > Key, title the key and name it whatever you want your run command to be. In this case, we will try to create a run command for SecueCRT application.

New > Key > SecureCRT.exe

Now select the SecureCRT.exe folder and click right on (Default) string value then click Modify at the right hand side panel.

Here enter the path of the program that you want to execute in the value data field. In our case, the path of SecueCRT application will be C:\Program Files\VanDyke Software\SecureCRT \SecureCRT.exe.

Now again in right side panel, click right to create a new String value with the name SecureCRT and its values as C:\Program Files\VanDyke Software\SecureCRT\SecureCRT.exe.

Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect

DISPLAY A TEXT NOTICE BEFORE LOGON

You can create a funny message or legal warnings for others just before logon to your computer. This is very useful if you want to give a message to new user about the use of computer. Edit the value of registry keys to create a banner message.

* Click Start button then type regedit in Run option then press Enter for next.

* Here locate the location to:

* HKeyLocalMachine \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Win Logon

* Here in right side panel, right click to create a new string value LegalNoticeCaption and give it a value you want to see in the menu bar

* Now again right click to create a new string value called LegalNoticeText and change the value you want to see in the dialog box

* Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.

CHANGE DRIVE ICONS

First of all copy a icon file to the root of the drive.
example: D:\icon.ico

Then create a file called: autorun.inf in D:\autorun.inf
open notepad and type the following:

[autorun]
icon=icon.ico

save the file as autorun.inf.and close the file.

Now open my computer and refresh..
you can apply to other drives too.

Be Careful:
"autorun.inf" and "ico.ico" must be in the root of the drive.
example: D:\autorun.inf and D:\icon.ico.
same on the root.

How to create CON folder

Many ppl dont know that they cannot create "CON" folder in windows. (Type 1)

Some ppl dont know why they cant create it? (Type 2)

Very few know that they can still create it someway.. but donno why are they supposed to do exactly like that..(Type 3)

Now, After reading this tutorial, you will become one of the rest


Type 2 :

Not only CON, we cannot create any of these
CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9 and more

The reason is that con, prn, lpt1..lpt9, etc are underlying devices from the time dos was written. so if u r allowed to create such folders, there will be an ambiguity in where to write data when the data is supposed to go to the specified devices. In other words, if i want to print something, internally what windows does is -- it will write the data to the folder prn (virtually u can call it a folder, i mean prn, con, etc are virtual folders in device level). So if we are able to create con folder, windows will get confused where to write the data, to virtual con folder or real one.

So Now, Try this...

Open the Command prompt by Start -> Run and typingcmd
then enter            md \\.\c:\con


here in the line md \\.\c:\con c: stands for drive name
if you want to do it on D drive you have to write md \\.\d:\con

Now, Open My Computer and browse through the path where you created CON folder... Surprising.. ?? Yeah.. you have created it successfully

Now, try to delete the folder from My computer

OOPS!!! You cant delete it...

Now, try this in command prompt console rd \\.\c:\con

Hide any file inside a Photo or any Image File

Steganography is a method used to hide secret messages in other messages,so that the message is totally concealed.

The art of hiding any file inside an image is called steganography .
Step 1 :
Get an JPEG image file and a txt file for this trick as in the screenshot, here i have used a text file and a JPG format file PS:

 

Step 2 : Now select the files/files you want to hide and compress them in a ZIP or a RAR archive to get a compressed File.

Step 3 : Now open up your command prompt by going to Start->Run->Type ‘Cmd’ and Hit Enter. You will see the command prompt current folder set to Documents Directory. Now change to root directory C:\ by typing “cd \” where your files are located.
Step 4 : Now what you will need to do is combine both te image and RAR file to create a new image file that will look he same. Type in copy /b SAM_0573.JPG+FileToHide.rar NewImage.JPG in the command prompt and it will create a new image file of same format with the RAR file inside it.Here is the screenshot

Now you will notice that the image file size has increased as a result of the copied file inside it.
Now just compressing the file inside the image wont do, we need to get the file back.So the simple trick is to Open the Image file with WinRAR using Open With..
An alternate way to open the image file to get the file is to change the extension of the image file from .JPG to .RAR and open it as a compressed file.

Keyboard Turns into Disco Light

This is really funny and amazing, With this trick keyboard Led's would start to act like Disco light. This trick can also be used as prank, try fooling your friends with this trick. Basically, This is a small program written in vbscript which will make keyboard led to blink and will continue unless you stop it. The code not only blink the led light but also change its states of caps, scroll and num lock to Off and On. So when you would try to write something you would see strange behavior and you won't be having any control on caps, num and scroll lock.

1.)  Open Notepad, Go to Start => Run => Type Notepad and press Enter.

2.) Copy the below code and paste in Notepad

                Set wshShell =wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

How to Stop this?

To stop this vbscript program, you may simply need to end this script program from task manager.

1.) Go to Task Manager, Right Click on Task bar and Select Task manager.

2.) In task manager, go to "process" tab

3.) Now locate wscript.exe and select it and Click on "End Process".
